Special Note
If candidates require an examination, they must possess a Painting Inspector certification at any level. However, if the course is solely for informational purposes, certification is not necessary. There is an option for a 3-day course leading to certification without holding a Painting Inspector approval; interested individuals should inquire for more information.
Please note that fireproofing is not covered in this course. For fireproofing inspection, refer to the Fireproofing Inspector ICorr Level 2 course. PDTC (ICorr) has also agreed to introduce an experience assessment for all ICorr certifications related to personnel engaged in painting and coating inspection. Detailed information about these changes will be published in the ICorr REQ DOC.
The Indonesian Institute of Non-Destructive Tesing (IINDT) are an Approved Training and Examination Centre for the Level 2 Institute of Corrosion Insulation Inspector course. The course is designed to prepare individuals for the ICorr Insulation Inspector Level 2 examination.
This course assumes all candidates hold an ICorr Protective Coating Inspector approval (any level) and therefore have some knowledge of inspection philosophy. Some corrosion and coating knowledge is also important for the insulation inspector due to the large amount of corrosion problems which have arisen under insulation.
Inspection of both thermal (hot and cold) insulation and acoustic insulation is covered and is applicable to pipework, vessels and equipment used in the gas, oil and process industries.

- Have a knowledge of inspection philosophy, surface preparation, anti-corrosion coatings and how to use common inspection instruments.
- Hold an ICorr Protective Coatings Inspector (or equivalent) certificate and ideally hold a minimum of 12 months’ coatings related experience.
- Submit their CV to ensure they have the required pre-requisite qualifications and experience.
- Seek advice if hold less than 12 months’ coatings experience as they may still undertake the course and become certified once relevant experience has been obtained.
